When you form a new team or start a new project where there are some team changes it is important to allow 2 – 3 weeks for the team to settle depending on the size of the project / team. It is important to take this into account when estimating effort and delivery for a new project. Just work it in as ‘project setup’ time, so you do not over promise and under deliver. Environments need to be setup, new tech needs to be researched, some training for new people might be required, it gives time for mini-spikes to proof technically difficult concepts. There are many more reasons, but these are some of the important ones we want to highlight.
